It has been a long time in the making, but it appears that View 14‘s leasing center will be open for business as of November 1st. Housing Complex’s Ruth Samuelson noticed the update on the nine-story apartment project’s website.
View 14 was one of the first projects in the District to have the foresight to convert to apartments rather than to deliver as condos before the housing crisis was in full swing. From its positioning at 14th Street and Florida Avenue, its location is fairly hard to beat, and, true to its name, it offers some of the best views of downtown DC in the city. According to Samuelson, it also is an amenity-laden building with “a game room with billiards, shuffleboard, and Nintendo Wii; A 2,250 square foot fitness center; Zipcar vehicles on site; finished guest suites available; and a “serene” sculpture garden.
A View 14 representative told UrbanTurf that they are anticipating move-in dates of mid-November, and that the pricing for the units (studios to three-bedrooms) has not been finalized. The ironic thing about the opening of the leasing center is that it could come just months before the DC area faces a condo shortage.
