UrbanLand Company president and founder Gerard DiRuggiero sees development of smaller condo projects coming back across DC, and he knows from experience that this is what always happens after a down market.

DiRuggiero's UrbanLand Company specializes in such projects, offering developers the planning, building, sales and marketing expertise the firm has built up over years of working in the District. He points to a four-unit building on 18th Street in Hill East as an example.
"In the case of this gem on the Hill, it was high hopes from an owner who thought he would become a developer, make a fortune and retire. But lack of expertise, time and money left this particular owner out of luck," recounts DiRuggiero. "That's where UrbanLand Company came in. We paired up with a well-qualified and experienced developer to rehab the building, and we will now provide the sales expertise that is needed to get the units sold in today’s market."
