In Under Contract this week, we take a look at properties featured on UrbanTurf that are now under contract including a two-unit home in Eastern Market with rental income possibilities and a two-bedroom coop in a Lanier Heights building with a cinematic history.
Eastern Market Two-Unit Property With Rental Income Possibilities
We selected this property a couple weeks ago for Best Open Houses and it was under contract about 13 days after hitting the market. Down the street from Eastern Market in Capitol Hill, this home consists of a two-bedroom unit that has been completely renovated with a number of windows and various nooks and crannies, as well as a one-bedroom, one-bath unit on the ground floor that has its certificate of occupancy. There is also a deep yard with an off-street parking space in back. Given its location, it is not surprising it caught someone’s eye in less than two weeks.

Deal of the Week: The Enemy of the State Coop
Dining Room
We featured this Lanier Heights two-bedroom coop as our Deal of the Week, last week and knew that it wouldn’t be on the market long. At 1,300 square feet, the price per square foot ($392) comes in about $50 less than the neighborhood average. In addition to having large, open rooms, the building where the unit is located has an interesting cinematic history: The Stafford was in a scene in the Will Smith political thriller Enemy of the State.

Two-Bedroom Row House Right Off H Street
This two-bedroom row house in the H Street Corridor was featured in Best Open Houses about a month ago and is a pretty cool alternative to a condo. The first level has a living room with an enormous window, a small dining area and a good-sized kitchen. The master bedroom has high ceilings and a small seating area, but the true asset of the home is a large, landscaped rear garden. It went under contract about a month after going on the market.
