Rendering of 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW
The rumors have been swirling for years, but news comes today that seems to confirm that Trader Joe’s is coming to Glover Park.
Eat DC tweeted earlier today that Trader Joe’s has filled a liquor license application for 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map), the former Holiday Inn site that is being transformed into a 225-unit development from JBG. A Trader Joe’s at this location will mean that there will be three grocery stores in about a five-block stretch along Wisconsin Avenue NW — Whole Foods (which is closed as of now) sits about two blocks north of the new Trader Joe’s location and Safeway sits one block to the south.
