In the next week or so, UrbanTurf will be running a feature highlighting our readers’ small space solutions, so it was fitting that one of the cooler-looking studio units to hit the market in some time sprang up on our radar yesterday.

The bold colors, comfortable living area and light kitchen made this 442-square foot unit in Adams Morgan stand out. But what really struck us was the way that the listing made use of its small square footage, living more like a one-bedroom than a studio. The studio manages to accommodate a Queen-sized bed and (slightly) separate living space, and the kitchen is mostly hidden from view, thanks to a wall with a large doorway.
Currently unoccupied and on the market for $242,000, the layout and design for the space is actually the handiwork of listing agent Sheila Simkin, who told UrbanTurf that she also sees the potential for an office area and small dining space.

Kitchen
Though living in a studio for several years made the author of this post wary of the bed always being visible when guests dropped by, the extra seating it offers is actually pretty practical here.
