Luxury condominium Turnberry Tower saw its biggest month of sales in April. The Rosslyn high-rise sold 10 units last month for a total of $20 million in sales volume, besting January 2011’s sales, which had held the record.
The strong sales pace is a positive sign as Turnberry’s sell-out enters the home stretch; it is 90 percent sold, with just 20 of 246 units remaining. Turnberry Associates Senior Vice President of Residential Development Dan Riordan attributes the strong demand to enthusiasm among existing residents.
“There is only one residence currently for resale in the entire building,” he said, referring to the only condominium being sold by someone other than the developer. “That’s because people are very happy living here. Most of the homeowners are local, full-time residents who feel there is really no other residential offering in the area to rival Turnberry Tower. They’re happy with the amenities, the lifestyle, the views, and the location.”
Of the remaining units, about half are large one-bedroom residences located on the middle to upper floors, while the other half are penthouses on the top five floors of the tower.
Interested purchasers can visit a variety of newly-furnished model homes at Turnberry Tower. There are three penthouses that range from 2,650 to 4,500 square feet as well as three one-bedroom models. “These are the largest new one-bedroom residences in the DC area,” Riordan said. Adding to the interior size of the homes, each and every residence has its very own private, expansive covered terrace. Also included in every home are European kitchens and bathrooms with granite and marble throughout, Snaidero Italian cabinetry, and appliances by Sub-Zero and Miele.
Turnberry Associates is as enthusiastic about this market as the market is for Turnberry Tower. Based on the success of Turnberry Tower, the developer is currently looking for other sites as its next development opportunity in the DC area.
Such a project would be a few years away, of course. Since there are only 20 residences remaining and the tower is expected to be completely sold in the next few months, buyers interested in one of the large one-bedroom or penthouse residences still available at Turnberry Tower should click here or call the sales office at 703-243-3000. The office is open seven days a week from 9am to 6pm.
