Lobby at The New Quin.
Leasing on The New Hampshire has now come to a close (all 33 apartments have been rented), while just 12 studio and one-bedroom apartments remain at The Quincy.
A kitchen at New Quin.
Studio apartments at The Quincy range in size from 420 to 530 square feet and have traditional early 20th century layouts that include sunrooms off of bedrooms or living rooms. Bedrooms in larger studios are also sectioned off by French doors, making them more private than your average studio bedroom spaces. Studio apartments start at $1600 a month.
One-bedroom apartments are sized between 562 and 665 square feet and include an oversized bedroom and sunroom (the sunrooms are perfect as a workspace or sitting room). These one-bedroom apartments start at $1800 a month.
A USB outlet at New Quin.
All of the remaining units include modern updates like central air and heat, brand new open-format kitchens with islands and built-in shelving, and completely updated bathrooms. They also have some rather unique conveniences like USB outlets, making it easy to plug in iPads and iPhones around the house. Stainless steel appliance packages complete the kitchen upgrades, and every apartment comes standard with energy-saving combination washer/dryer units.
Current residents love that The Quincy is a mix of vintage charm and modern conveniences, both in design and location. UIP restored many of the pre-war details in common areas (like the lobby), but contemporized the interior design with industrial and postmodern Gothic elements.
New Quin is located between Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues (map), near Raymond Playground. The neighborhood is showing signs that it will soon transform into the next DC hotspot. Though known for its unique residential feel, Petworth is welcoming a host of new restaurants and businesses. The Hilton Brothers (of Thievery Corporation fame and creators of Marvin and Blackbyrd on 14th Street), for instance, have opened French bistro Chez Billy just behind the apartments on Georgia Avenue.
