In this week’s Price Cutter, we feature a property from each housing category: condo, row house, and single-family home.

Renovated Four-Bedroom Row House in Petworth

Price Cutter: The Condo, The Row House, and The Bungalow: Figure 1

We originally featured this renovated four-bedroom row house in Petworth just last week in What $415K Buys You in DC. It is a full renovation done by the development firm Walnut Street Development, with the original hardwood floors preserved throughout. The home now has a light-filled main level, a chef’s kitchen, a large backyard and deck, and parking. The basement is also now finished and leads out to a covered patio in back. A couple commenters agreed that this was the best of the three properties featured in last week’s article. With a $15,000 price drop down to $400K, the home should be more attractive still.

  • Full Listing: 617 Farragut Street NW (map)
  • Original Price: $414,900
  • New Price: $399,900
  • Bedrooms: Four
  • Bathrooms: 3.5
  • Year Built: 1927

Two-Bedroom Bungalow Blocks From The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray

Price Cutter: The Condo, The Row House, and The Bungalow: Figure 2

Regular UrbanTurf readers know how fond we are of Del Ray bungalows, and this two-bedroom is a case in point. A cool front porch, back deck with a hot tub, and close proximity to the famed custard shop The Dairy Godmother on Mount Vernon Avenue made the house an easy pick for Best New Listings in late March. It has the original pine floors, a fireplace, a two-car brick driveway, and, as of late last week, is now $26,000 more affordable.

1,137 Square-Foot Two-Bedroom Straddling Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant

Price Cutter: The Condo, The Row House, and The Bungalow: Figure 3

We featured this two-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo just two weeks ago in What $529 Buys. There was lots that we liked, including the generous 1,137 square feet, wood-burning fireplace, and private patio area off the living room. The price dropped just a little (ten grand) last week, which suggests the seller is still pretty confident in the pricing.
