New Website Aims To Be the Match.com of Real Estate

A website called FindBuyers.com has launched that offers a new angle on how home buyers find the perfect home. Unlike so many sites that allow users to search thousands of local listings by specifying a few basic options like number of bedrooms and ZIP code, FindBuyers.com has users fill out a more involved form describing exactly what they are looking for in a home. The form includes about 30 criteria, everything from property specifics to seller terms to even their credit score (optional). When the service finds a for-sale home that matches over 60 percent of that criteria, the user is notified and can choose whether to reach out to the seller. The process is anonymous until both the prospective buyer and seller decide to make contact.
It’s almost structured more like a dating site than it is a traditional listings site, says founder (and one-time real estate agent) Eldad Moraru.
Beyond playing matchmaker between home buyers and home sellers, FindBuyers.com does not get involved in the transaction. The service itself does not act as an agent for either party, nor does it recommend agents.
FindBuyers.com is currently focused on the DC area and surrounding Mid-Atlantic, as far north as Pennsylvania and as far south as North Carolina. It draws on more than 25,000 for-sale properties to find homes matching buyers’ criteria.
