Amid the excitement about CityCenterDC finally getting started, one question has been nagging patrons of the many discount bus lines that take travelers up and down the East Coast: where will the pick-up and drop-off points move?
Two of the most prominent bus companies, BoltBus and Megabus, have been using the old convention center site as their primary downtown depot, picking up travelers heading out of DC and dropping off those heading in. Housing Complex now reports that, with one of the biggest mixed-use projects in the city about to break ground, two of the most popular lines (BoltBus and Megabus) have each announced new locations. BoltBus will move to New Jersey and F Street NW, while Megabus will head to North Capitol and K Street NW:

Both locations are pretty close to Union Station, making multimodal train-to-bus trips more convenient for travelers and raising Union Station’s value as a travel hub. The city seems to have had its eye on this eventuality for awhile; recall the six-month pilot last year between the DC government and Union Station Redevelopment Corporation that saw three of the intercity bus services set up locations at Union Station.
