Deal of the Week: A Slightly Older Renovation in LeDroit Park

340 Elm Street NW (the beige house)
While many recently renovated homes in LeDroit Park sell for well over $500,000, this installment of Deal of the Week has a slightly dated renovation that helps bring its price into the bargain range.
Kitchen
The home was renovated in a simple style in 2003, with an updated kitchen and bathrooms, and a backyard paved over into a patio area. The floorplan includes perks one might expect from a Victorian, like a bay window and a fireplace, and some nice additions, including a deep bathtub in the master bathroom. The listing isn’t as striking as some of the pricier renovations that can be found in the neighborhood, but it is solidly constructed and spacious at 1,566 square feet.
While it probably will need some work from the eventual buyer, recent neighborhood sales, including a three-bedroom for $630,000 and a five-bedroom for $800,000, are evidence that it likely won’t last on the market long.
