22 West
22 West is considered to be one of the highest-end new condo projects built in DC over the last decade. Now, it appears that an equally high-end restaurant will be coming to the development’s ground floor.
DCmud has reported that local restaurateur Ashok Bajaj is close to signing a lease to open his latest establishment at the long vacant 3,000 square-foot retail space at 22 West. Bajaj is a household name among DC foodies having opened a number of successful restaurants over the years including Ardeo, Bibiana, Oval Room and Rasika.
Few details were revealed about the new restaurant, but Bajaj did tell DCmud that he has “been waiting to get into the space for years.” The 92-unit, 12-story 22 West was completed in 2008 with units ranging in size from 900 to 3,500 square feet, but developer Eastbanc has been unable to find a tenant for the ground floor retail space.
We have reached out to Eastbanc reps in the hopes of finding out more details.
