As Catholic University of America (CUA) continues phasing out the low-rise dormitories on its campus, plans have evolved for a new campus residence hall.

CUA has filed a zoning application to amend its Campus Plan to enable construction of a large residence hall at John McCormack Road and Taylor Street NE (map). The building would replace what is currently surface parking and open space.

The 65 foot-tall, F-shaped building would have 366 units. Perkins Eastman is the architect.

A zoning hearing has not yet been scheduled; CUA representatives shared plans for the building at community meetings and at the February meeting of ANC 5A.
