In this week’s Above Asking, UrbanTurf takes a look at properties that sold for more than $50,000 above their list price within a week of coming on the market, including a Mad Men-style house initially advertised as a possible teardown.

A Midcentury Home Goes Well Well Above Asking
This midcentury modern in Kent flew off the market in just five days, despite needing work — the listing initially suggested this property may be a teardown project. The home, which has five bedrooms and a unique artist studio on a densely forested lot, has a lot of potential and when we wrote about it a few months ago, we noted that we would opt to renovate it, rather than tear it down. The house that UrbanTurf dubbed Don Draper’s DC digs fetched $55,000 over its asking price.

A Three-Bed Brookland Bungalow Goes More than $60,000 Above List
UrbanTurf loved the open-concept main floor in this bright Brookland bungalow, which went under contract in just under a week for $60,500 over the listing price. The home has both three bedrooms and three bathrooms, meaning nobody has to share. Outside is a big backyard with three-car parking and a two-level deck, while the finished basement gets a bedroom and a separate bath.
