Adams Morgan could be the next DC neighborhood with a missing middle project on the boards.

GirlBuilt has applied for historic preservation review of a concept to convert the rowhouse at 1918 Belmont Road NW (map) into a maximum of 7 units. The proposal would add massing to the rear of the existing three-story-plus-basement structure.

The plans seem to offer different options depending on the number of units allowed: If seven residences, the units will start at 388 square feet. If there are five units, the units will start at 429 square feet, and if there are four units, each will be at least 914 square feet. The site is in the Kalorama Triangle historic district.
