This week in What X Rents You, UrbanTurf looks in the $2,500 a month range and found a variety of choices for prospective renters in the DC area with this monthly budget.

Penthouse in the Palisades

Palisades is a neighborhood that typically conjures up images of family-sized homes and leafy yards. This rental on MacArthur Boulevard, however, is a penthouse apartment with bright rooms and an open floor plan. The unit is the product of two combined apartments, which means that there are some oversized rooms, like a master bedroom with an attached office that is the size of a studio apartment. The rental is being shown tonight by appointment only.

Renovated Townhouse on the H Street Corridor

This rental is an entire row house just south of H Street NE, on the western side of the corridor. This end seems to be developing more these days, with Boundary Road getting visits from the president and the Giant grocery store opening at 360 H Street in the spring. The two-bedroom home has separate living and dining rooms and a shared patio, as well as a wood-burning fireplace, central A/C, a washer/dryer, and a small rear deck.

Quiet Five-Bedroom in Silver Spring

For commuters and those with a family, this five-bedroom in Silver Spring, north of the beltway, may be an appealing option. The home has typical renovations, like a new kitchen and updated appliances, as well as a backyard, a garage and a storage shed. The quiet neighborhood also has a library and a swim center.
