In What X Buys You this week, UrbanTurf takes a look at properties on the market in the $1 million range to give readers an idea of what type of homes are available in this price point in the DC area.
Four-Bedroom Mount Pleasant Rowhouse With Rental Unit
This 1910 end-unit Victorian in Mount Pleasant is one of the lowest-priced listings featured in this edition of What X Buys, but it may offer the best bang for the buck. In addition to three bedrooms and a master suite that takes up a good portion of the third floor, the home has a one-bedroom apartment on the lower level that rents for $1,150 a month. The home also has a large living room, formal dining room, a back porch, deck and a garage. Hopefully it isn’t under contract by the time this is published, but we wouldn’t be surprised.
- Full Listing: 1847 Ontario Place NW (map)
- Price: $997,500
- Bedrooms: Five
- Bathrooms: 3.5
- Year Built: 1910
- Listing Agent: Bonnie Roberts-Burke, Evers & Company
Three-Bedroom Remodeled Craftsman in Arlington
The lowest-priced home of the three listings that UrbanTurf is featuring today, this three-bedroom Craftsman in Arlington has been remodeled with a large family room that has a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, custom woodwork and a large kitchen. Our favorite aspect of the home, however, may be the master suite on the upper level, which has a large walk-in closet and its own fireplace.
- Full Listing: 618 South 20th Street, Arlington, VA (map)
- Price: $969,000
- Bedrooms: Three

Three-Level East Village Rowhouse With Inviting Rear Patio
This Georgetown rowhouse sits on three levels with features like a den with built-ins and two fireplaces, including one adjacent to a sitting area in the kitchen. UrbanTurf’s favorite feature, though, is the brick rear patio that can be reached by way of to French doors (see photo above). The home is located on a quiet street in the neighborhood’s East Village.
