WaPo: Time to Buy, Time to Sell?

The Washington Post had an article this past weekend that looked at home owners who sold their homes at the height of the market and how and when they have decided to jump back in to make their next purchase.
While the article does not offer any earth-shattering revelations, it is an interesting read, particularly for those buyers who are waiting to buy again until a unanimous decision is issued that the housing market has bottomed.
From the article:
“…perfectly timing the market is an elusive feat for even the most successful investors. Rather than worrying about making a perfect call on the way back in, professionals who sold near the peak say assessing one’s personal and financial situation, as well as risk tolerance, is critical.”
The overarching theme of the article? The home owners featured were happy to have sold near the peak of the market, and are realistic enough to know that they probably won’t be as lucky to buy just as the market bottoms.
