Choosing the best from the best is a fairly difficult task. There were plenty of articles written for UrbanTurf this year that justifiably deserved a place on our annual Top 5 List, but when it came down to it, these posts rose to top of the pile. The articles are not ranked in any particular order.

1) DC Apartments Roll Out the Move-In Incentives – To entice renters in the DC area, apartment complexes began offering everything from free rent to free Apple computer products to get prsopective tenants to sign leases.
2) Still Priced Out of DC’s Tonier Neighborhoods, Buyers Head East – Despite a variety of favorable factors, young buyers are still finding DC’s historically popular neighborhoods too expensive, which has resulted in a steady migration east.
3) H Street: A Place to a Party and Settle Down – You knew that H Street was going to somehow make it on this list. For our first article in a partnership with The Washington Post, we looked at the Northeast neighborhood behind Union Station where it seems every young buyer with a chunk of change is beginning to invest.
4) The Top 20 Fastest Selling Condos in the DC Area – Part of our series on the DC area condo market, this item was as popular as it was controversial, giving consumers an idea of what developments were selling units faster than others.
5) DC Rental Units: More Than Just Collecting a Monthly Check – This article, which looked at the ins and outs of renting your English basement, made us realize how many industrious home buyers there are in the DC area.
