In Under Contract, UrbanTurf looks back at properties it has featured over the past couple weeks to see which were snatched up by DC’s alert buyers.
Downtown 8th Floor Two-Bedroom With a View
About a month ago in our Best New Listings post, we featured a two-bedroom unit just to the south of Blagden Alley that we deemed a convenient option for someone who needs to live downtown due to a hectic work schedule. The 8th floor unit has 1,300 square feet of interior space and a huge corner of floor-to-ceiling windows that leads out to a balcony. There is an in-unit washer/dryer, building concierge, as well as not one, but two garage parking spaces (a must amenity in this neighborhood if you have a car). All this convenience and luxury comes with fairly high condo fees ($740/month), though, which is probably why it was on the market for about three weeks.

Row House for Under $400K
Living Room
We featured this two-bedroom, renovated row house next to Union Station as our Deal of the Week a couple weeks ago and knew that it wouldn’t be on the market long (8 days) as it was priced in the same range as many one-bedroom condos in the District.
Even though it was fully renovated in 2005 and 2006, the home still has many of its historic touches including exposed hand-formed brick walls and oak wood floors. While street parking is fairly easy to find in the area, the row house comes with a parking space in back. The street itself was also likely a draw for the buyer. Parker Street is just one block long and narrow, and its tidy, colorful row houses give it a village-like feel.

Large Two-Bedroom Condo in the U Street Corridor With 18-Foot Windows
This two-level, two-bedroom condo is rather hard to forget as it has 20-foot ceilings and 18-foot walls of glass in the living room that give the unit an enormous amount of natural light. We featured it in Best New Listings a couple weeks ago and it went under contract earlier this week. At 1,300 square feet, the unit has a lot of space and both bedrooms are very good-sized. The condo also comes with a parking space, but we imagine the windows were the big selling point.

The Lowest-Priced Two-Bedroom in Dupont
When we featured this Dupont Circle unit as a Deal of the Week it was the lowest priced unit of its size in the neighborhood. Even though it is under contract, it would still hold that distinction if it were still on the market. The duplex has a bright open living and dining area that includes a gas fireplace, hardwood floors and a small patio area off the lower level. We heard that 40 groups stopped by the first open house.
