This Week's Find: An Ultramodern Georgetown Condo on the Market for $2.5 Million
This Week’s Find is an ultramodern Georgetown condo renovated in 2011 by Schlesinger Associates Architects.
The condo, listed at $2.5 million, is owned by Bruno Lassus, a vice president at biometrics-maker 3M Cogent. Lassus’ 2,000-square-foot apartment is dominated by huge slabs of marble, including a staircase made entirely of the stone. Openings between the first and second floors, along with skylights, allow light to permeate the space.
The unit’s one bedroom is upstairs, where it’s separated from an office-like “public” space by a frosted glass barrier. The master bath is dominated by — you guessed it — more marble.
“I like open space and no wood,” Lassus told the Georgetown Dish when the renovation was finished. “You see, my grandfather made wood furniture in France. We had so much of it. … I like the cold of stone.”
