A few weeks ago, UrbanTurf wrote about a former school in DC that had been transformed into residences. Today, we are going to cover a former bank.
The old City Bank building on Capitol Hill came on the market earlier this week with Michael Schaeffer and Joseph Zorc of Coldwell Banker.

The building at 536 8th Street SE (map) has not served its original purpose for quite some time. The three level all brick property, built in 1908 along Barracks Row, currently serves as the offices for Oehme, van Sweden Landscape Architects.
The space was renovated over the years with striking front doors, huge windows, egg and dart crown molding, coffered ceilings, brick pilasters, and pendant fixtures. Despite the renovations, one can still tell from photos that it used to be a bank.
Interestingly, this is not the only bank building that now serves a different purpose on the Hill. Way back in 2010, UrbanTurf reported on a former City Bank branch that had been turned into a home.
