This Week's Find: A Contemporary Residence for Rectangle Fans: Figure 1

The white, angular exterior of this contemporary home on Chain Bridge Road is in sharp contrast to the leafy, tree-filled setting in which it sits. With rectangular planes that are too numerous to count, the facade of the 2005-built three-bedroom house is made up almost entirely of 90 degree angles.

Every bedroom has a covered terrace and there is a large, flagstone patio off the living room. The architecture incorporates the bedroom terraces in the home’s design, creating a rectangular (of course) arch-like structure that supports and complements the overhang. Hugging Battery Kimball Park between Palisades and AU Park, the house is located in a community of varied, but extremely high-end residential real estate.
