440 12th Street NE, #309

This Week's Find is located in an UrbanTurf favorite: the converted schoolhouse known as Lovejoy Lofts. The school building, that sits between the Atlas District and Stanton Park, was retrofit into condos in 2003 and takes advantage of a wealth of original architectural features.

This particular one bedroom spans 1,000 square feet on the top floor of the building, affording it skylights and vaulted ceilings. The unit has stained concrete floors, exposed exhaust, and a series of painted wooden beams and triangular trusses along the hall into the main living area. A bonus nook off the hallway, beneath the stairs, has mirrored closet doors.

The kitchen is tucked beneath the loft and has a breakfast bar island, granite countertops, and a double basin sink across from a dining nook beneath a slanted accent wall. The kitchen also faces the skylit living area, which has a pitched ceiling and a brick accent wall.

The bedroom occupies the upstairs loft and is also beneath a pitched ceiling, along with skylights, exposed pipes and narrow beams. The building is also pet friendly, and the unit comes with a separate laundry room and an assigned parking space.
