About ten days ago, we asked readers to guess the price of a five-bedroom home near the Golden Gate Heights neighborhood in San Francisco. We felt the choice of San Francisco was fitting given the little rumbling that the DC area experienced on the morning of July 16th. Here is a brief description of the property for those who missed the post:
The home measures out at almost 3,600 square feet, and was actually moved to its current location from The Presidio in the early part of the 20th century and completely renovated at the beginning of this year. Interesting historical tidbit: a famous naval officer of the mid-19th century once lived in the home.
Take a look:

The guesses ranged from a low of $1.7 million to a high of $4.3 million. So how much would you have to plunk down for this property? The price: $1,738,000. Here is the property listing. (The property went under contract since we featured it and requires a Redfin log-in to view its current status and price.)
Congratulations to our winner Peter who was closest (without going over) with a guess of $1.7 million. Peter will receive an Urban Turf t-shirt for his winning guess.
