The final phase of the redevelopment of Skyland Town Center is getting going.
On Thursday, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, along with representatives of WC Smith, Rappaport, Washington East Foundation and the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, officially broke ground on the final piece of the Skyland redevelopment (map). This phase will include 126 townhomes, an all-affordable 75-unit senior building; and approximately 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.

“The promise of Skyland Town Center has been years in the making, and I am grateful for all the people and partners who have worked with us to deliver on that promise for Ward 7,” Mayor Bowser said in a statement.
The final phase of the development will join already-completed components, including The Crest, a 263-unit residential building, which opened in 2021, as well as a Lidl grocery store and a drive-thru Starbucks.
