UrbanTurf is taking its semi-regular look at the areas around DC that have seen the highest home price appreciation so far in 2021.
In the table below, we outline the six zip codes that have seen the largest percentage increase in home values this year. In order to qualify for the list, a zip code had to record at least 20 sales in 2021.

As has been the case when analyzing home price appreciation in the city, the increase in value is being seen on both sides of the city.
The top three zip codes where home values have increased more than 20% are all in the NW quadrant, spanning neighborhoods from Takoma to Chevy Chase to Georgetown. The next three zip codes encompass almost the entire area of the city east of the Anacostia River, including neighborhoods like Deanwood, Anacostia and Congress Heights.
A similarity for almost all these zip codes is a severe lack of homes for sale. With the exception of 20032, all the areas saw the supply of listings drop precipitously in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the previous year.
