If you decided to sell your home in one of the five DC zip codes below this year, chances are you made a tidy profit.

Last week, UrbanTurf covered a report from ATTOM Data Solutions that measured the profit that DC-area home sellers made in the first quarter of 2019. Today, we take a more granular look at where seller profits were the highest.

20008, the zip code that encompasses portions of Forest Hills, Van Ness, Cleveland Park, Woodley Park, and Kalorama, is the section of DC that saw some of the best seller profits in 2019. Sellers in this zip code realized an average price gain of $312,500 in the first quarter representing an average 72 percent return on a home's purchase price.

The zip code that includes Trinidad, the northern section of Capitol Hill, Kingman Park, and Eckington was also a place where profits were made. Home sellers in the zip code realized average price gains of $217,500 in the first quarter of 2019, representing a 53 percent return on a home's purchase price. Rounding out the top five are 20020, 20032 and 20011.
