Several reports are out with the full Zoning Commission application for Douglas Development’s planned retail and residential project in Tenleytown. (The Headline of the Day award goes to Lydia DePillis over at Housing Complex.) The Washington Business Journal reported recently that the ubiquitous development firm would file its application with the commission this week.
The project, located on the site of the former Babe’s Billiards at 4600 Wisconsin Avenue NW, is designed with a retail space on the street level and five stories of apartments above it. While most new residential developments in the city receive their fair share of neighborhood feedback, this one has, and will likely continue to receive, some protests from the residents who live near it.
The Tenley project is just one of the residential projects that Douglas Development has in the works, including a six-story, 30-unit apartment development at the corner of Florida Avenue and 14th Street NW.
