Spring Valley: Still One of DC's Most Expensive Neighborhoods

When Washingtonians hear the name Spring Valley it brings to mind a level of exclusivity that few neighborhoods in DC have attained. The Washington Post wrote a quick profile of the area this weekend, and it looks like that reputation is still holding strong, despite an influx of young families.
Built on the site of a former World War I chemical agents and munitions testing site, the neighborhood was developed by W.C. & A.N. Miller, now one of the largest real estate agencies in upper northwest DC. While a few decades ago, Spring Valley was hardly considered part of DC, now it is home to the city’s wealthy elite.
From The Post:
“Anneliese Wilkerson, a realtor with Long & Foster said it’s rare to see one of the neighborhood’s stately colonials or Tudors, most of which have four to seven bedrooms, sell for less than $1 million.
‘It’s probably one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Washington,’ said Wilkerson, who lives across Massachusetts Avenue from Spring Valley. ‘There are heads of state, former senators, lawyers, doctors, high-ranking government officials — this is the population you’ve got there. But despite its opulence, it has a very warm feeling to it.’”
