As jurisdictions outside of the immediate DC area begin easing stay-at-home restrictions, UrbanTurf is taking another look at trends for showings of homes on the market.
ShowingTime's latest data indicates that in-person property showings nationwide are almost at the same rate that they were a year ago. Showings for the week ending May 21st were two percent lower than this year's pre-pandemic high, and 5.7% lower than the same time last year.

Showings have not rebounded quite as impressively in DC proper, although they are trending upward compared to a month ago.
Property showings in DC for the week ending May 21st are just below the 2020 weekly average, and 13.6% lower than the same time in 2019. Because this year's market started off so hot in the city, showings over the past week are 18% lower compared to the peak seen just prior to the pandemic.
Parts of Maryland and Virginia have already begun phased "reopening", but rebounds in showings have been a mixed bag. Property showings in Maryland are 10.6% lower than observed over the same time last year, and are 3.8% lower than this year's pre-pandemic peak. In Virginia, property showings have dropped off 25% compared to where they were at the same time last year, and 7.5% lower than this year's pre-pandemic peak.
