Presidential Party Crasher's Mount Pleasant Mansion Back on Market: Figure 1
3102 18th Street NW

A year ago almost to the day, news broke in DC about a third party “crasher” at the now-infamous White House state dinner that made Michaele and Tareq Salahi household names. It soon came to light that the allegedly uninvited guest, Carlos Allen, ran the Hush Galleria Social Club, a local party group that hosted events at a Mount Pleasant mansion located at 3102 18th Street NW. UrbanTurf has learned that the mansion has once again been listed for sale, this time for the very attractive price of $850,000.

As we originally reported back in early 2010, the home has been on and off the market over the past few years, with a list price fluctuating between $949,000 and $1,050,000. When we wrote about the house back then, it was listed for sale on Craigslist. The listing was later taken off the market, relisted in May for $879,000, taken off the market again, until today when it was relisted for $850,000 (or $234 per square foot).

While the stately Victorian five-bedroom, 5.5-bath row home has largely been used as an event space that shrouded itself in secrecy, hosting random weekday evening events complete with limousines, valet parking, and a red carpet entrance, its original layout as a single-family home has generally been maintained, and from the outside it is hard to tell that anything out of the ordinary went on there.

As for Carlos Allen, he announced his retirement from the party planning scene back in March and then had an ill-fated run for mayor on a platform where he claimed that he was the first “Afro-Latino in History.”
