Prince of Petworth is reporting that the Park Place apartment complex above the Petworth Metro station will have its ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday afternoon. Following the ceremony there will be a reception where units will be available to tour.
The apartments, located at 850 Quincy Street NW, range in size from 590 square feet for a one-bedroom to 1,200 square feet for a three-bedroom. In addition to traditional apartments, Park Place also offers two-story town homes for rent in the back of the development.
The building amenities include a fitness center, a rooftop terrace with outdoor grills and a bocce lawn, a 24-hour front desk and concierge and on-site underground parking. No word on what the rents will be at the new development, but if they are in line with the new Allegro Apartment complex in Columbia Heights ($1,575 for a one-bedroom and up to $3,750 for a penthouse), the long-held belief that Petworth is a relatively inexpensive place to live may begin to change.
