Last fall, the boutique condo development Ontario 17 on the former site of the historic Ontario Theater (map) in Adams Morgan opened to a clamor of sales. Now, just a month into 2016, the building with 80 light-filled condos, exciting commercial anchors and charming historic details retained from the original theater is 70 percent sold out.
Though all of the one-bedroom homes are gone, a handful of move-in ready studios and two-bedroom/two-bath homes are still on the market—and the property is offering enticing deals for prospective buyers: $5,000 toward closing costs and one free storage unit (valued at $5,000).
The two-bedrooms range in price from $674,900 to 684,900, and one two-bedroom penthouse with a private rooftop terrace is available at $849,900. Studios are priced from the mid $200s.
Ontario 17 homes feature space-conscious open floorplans, gourmet kitchens, hardwood flooring, deco-inspired design (an homage to the original theater), quartz countertops and energy efficient stainless steel appliances. All of the homes also include large balconies, with the exception of the penthouses, whose private rooftop terraces have panoramic views of the city and beyond.
Underground parking is available, and bike storage is readily available to all residents. The community is anchored by a stylish lobby and secure residential entrance, and features both a community lounge (with TV and fireplace) and a rooftop terrace.
The building’s retail space is occupied by popular fitness studio solidcore and will soon welcome Ace Hardware. The Adams Morgan neighborhood is chalk full of amenities in the way of boutiques (Violet Boutique, Le Bustiere Boutique), bars (Bourbon, Madam’s Organ) and restaurants (Mintwood Place, Pop’s Seabar).
