A penthouse in Friendship Heights sold in late October for $7 million, becoming one of the most expensive condos to ever sell in Maryland.
The two-floor, 9,100 square foot residence at Somerset House II went under contract in August at a list price of $7.75 million. The condo, which hadn't been on the market in decades, was listed with Jamie Coley and Zelda Heller of Long & Foster Real Estate. Coley did not immediately return a request for comment from UrbanTurf.

The residence features a wood-paneled library, a restaurant-worthy bar and a huge salon space with 18-foot west-facing windows. The primary suite has a sitting room with a fireplace, two dressing room areas, two separate baths (one with another fireplace), and a steam/sauna room.
There are several spacious terraces throughout the two levels of the home, and not one, but four garage parking spaces. Somerset is one of the more luxurious condo complexes in Montgomery County, featuring 24-hour security, tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art gym, and a racquetball court.
The four-bedroom listing originally hit the market in April 2023 for the lofty price of $10.5 million.
