It has been a somewhat busy end to the year when it comes to luxury real estate deals in DC.
About a week after a $16.5 million mansion along Embassy Row found a buyer, the penthouse duplex at the Residences at Harbourside (map) in Georgetown went under contract. The condo, the second most expensive on the market in DC, was listed for $8.95 million with Michael Rankin of TTR Sotheby's International Realty.

The focal point of the 6,000 square-foot four-bedroom listing may be the 3,400 square-foot terrace that offers a private pool and views of the Potomac River, Kennedy Center, Washington Monument. Each floor of the condo opens on to the spacious terrace.
The unit's private elevator enters into a large entry hall, and beyond that the living space really begins to spread out with a living room, large dining room, chef's kitchen and pantry and library. The second level includes in-unit amenities such as a sauna, spa and exercise room.
