Philanthropist and businesswoman Adrienne Arsht, known for buying and selling some of DC's priciest homes in recent years, just set a mammoth real estate record in Miami.
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that a waterfront estate in Miami owned by Arsht has sold for nearly $107 million, setting a new record for the priciest piece of residential real estate ever sold in Miami-Dade County. The estate, which came on the market in January for $150 million, was purchased by hedge-fund billionaire Ken Griffin, who has acquired hundreds of millions of dollars of Florida real estate in recent years, according to the Journal.

While many of Arsht's real estate deals in DC are dwarfed by the Miami transaction, she has been a very active player at the top of the city's residential market in recent years.
In 2019, Arsht purchased a ten-bedroom house in Georgetown. A year later, she put that same home on the market for $10.8 million and bought what is known as the first home of Chevy Chase for $10 million. Arsht's name was in the real estate headlines again in 2021 when she listed her nine-bedroom mansion at 2221 30th Street NW for $18.5 million, making it the priciest listing in DC at the time.
We will be watching to see what type of big real estate move she makes next year.
