Most Expensive Homes Sold in the DC Area in Q1 2009: Figure 1
Eight-Bedroom Rowhouse in Kalorama

Local real estate blogger (one of our favorites) Dewita Soeharjono has compiled a list of the top ten home/condo sales in the DC area for the first quarter of 2009. See some of the notable properties below.

  • A five-level, eight-bedroom mansion sold in McLean for $16M, a discount of $3M off its original listing price. The property has a total 30,000 square feet of space and apparently took five years to build.
  • An eight-bedroom rowhouse in Kalorama with five full and two half-baths. The property has a lounge with a media room, a roof terrace and a large detached two-car garage. It sold for $4.195M, $800k less than its original list price.

  • The now famous Ritz Carlton penthouse in Georgetown that we wrote about here, here and here. The four-bedroom unit has 3,100 square feet of terrace space and 4,400 square feet of interior space. It sold for $7.295M, a record for a condo in DC.
