The Marvin
A number of condos at The Marvin, a residential building on Kalorama Road, hit the market Friday after the building concluded the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) process.
In short, TOPA gives residents the right of first refusal if their building is put on the market. At The Marvin, located at 1910 Kalorama Road NW (map), 23 owners exercised the right to buy their units. The remaining studios, one and two-bedrooms have been completely gutted and renovated, and the first of the one-bedrooms will be open to the public this weekend.
A renovated unit.
The one-bedrooms average approximately 750 square feet and are priced starting in the low $400,000s. Updates include Carrera marble bathrooms, kitchen with custom-painted wood cabinets, Bosch stacked washer/dryers, custom closet organizers and blinds, and five-inch hand-scraped crater oak floors like those in the photo above.
McWilliams|Ballard is handling the sales of the units, which will be open this Saturday from 1pm to 3pm and on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
