This fall, the company also plans to file an application to convert the office building at 1750 Crystal Drive (map) into a mixed-use residential building. The application would add six floors to the 12-story building, delivering 350 apartments atop ground-floor retail. The building will also be rebranded as 1770 Crystal.
In December 2015, the Arlington County Board approved a plan by Vornado to refurbish and update the materiality of the exterior of the office building, reconfigure the retail spaces and add 10,000 square feet of additional office and retail space.
Correction: The number of residential units has been edited from 650 to 350.
