A massive renovation on a Crystal City office building is now complete and it is ready for its new tenant: Amazon.
JBG SMITH has finished construction work at 1770 Crystal Drive (map), delivering a 14-story building with 259,000 square feet of office above 14,000 square feet of retail. Amazon is leasing all of the office space as part of its National Landing headquarters. Gensler is the architect.
With this upcoming move-in, Amazon now occupies roughly 857,000 square feet of preexisting office space across five buildings in northern Virginia. Tenant buildout work is ongoing for JBG SMITH's adjacent Central District retail strip.
“The return to productive use of 1770 Crystal Drive represents yet another significant milestone in National Landing’s ongoing transformation into a vibrant 18-hour neighborhood,” Matt Kelly, CEO of JBG SMITH, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with Amazon and accommodate its growing presence in the region as we continue to make progress on its modern new headquarters.”
