Is a competitor to Komi and minibar coming to Shaw?
A fine dining restaurant called Shaw Bijou from Kelly Gorsuch, the man behind the hair salon Immortal Beloved and the barber shop The Barber of Hells Bottom, is in the works for a rowhouse at 1544 9th Street NW (map). The other owners include Glenn Paik, Greg Vakiner and Kwame Onwuachi, one of the restaurants three chefs and former chef at the much-heralded Eleven Madison Park in New York City.

The restaurant will serve modern American food in a chef’s tasting format. The dining experience will consist of fifteen to twenty courses over the course of three hours. Another of the chefs is also coming from Eleven Madison Park, while the third is coming from a restaurant in New Orleans.
The owners recently filed documents with the Board of Zoning and Adjustment as the property at 1544 9th Street NW is a single-family home that they plan to convert into a restaurant.
