Home Prices Rise In Most Metro Areas To Begin 2025

Home prices in most metropolitan areas rose in the first three months of the year, a new report found.
The latest quarterly report from the National Association of Realtors found that 80% of metropolitan areas posted home price gains in the first quarter of 2025.

“Most metro markets continue to set new record highs for home prices,” said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. “In the first quarter, the Northeast performed best in both sales and price gains by percentage. Despite the stronger job additions, the South lagged with declining sales and virtually no price appreciation.”
In the DC region, home prices have exceeded or hovered around record highs for the last several months. We will know if that continued when an April report comes out early next week.
