Rendering for Twelve12
The 50,000 square-foot Harris Teeter under construction in Navy Yard is scheduled to open on October 1, ANC 6D Commissioner David Garber told UrbanTurf. The grocery store will anchor the retail at Twelve12, a 200-225 unit apartment building under construction at 1212 4th Street SE (map).
The new Harris Teeter will sit about an 8-minute walk from the planned Whole Foods store that signed a lease at 800 New Jersey Avenue SE late last year.
Later this week, UrbanTurf will be running an updated profile of the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard area that will look at how the neighborhood has changed in recent years.
