Foreclosures Breeding Grounds for Mosquitoes: Figure 1

Your skin may be at risk if you buy a foreclosure in the next few months. The National Pest Management Association is reporting that abandoned homes can be breeding grounds for mosquitoes this summer, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The National Pest Management Association made the same warning last summer as foreclosures started to flood the market. The properties that will be the most affected by mosquitoes will be those with swimming pools or any type of standing water.

From the WBJ:

“The National Pest Management Association urges homeowners to contact their local health department if concerned about a foreclosed property with a backyard pool or other area of standing water. Other mosquito breeding prevention tips are available at the group’s website Pestworld.org.”
