Facebook Living at $45,000 a Month: Figure 1

In this week’s departure from all things DC real estate, we look at how the other half lives. The other half in this case refers to Napster founder and former Facebook executive Sean Parker.

Parker, who left Facebook under mysterious circumstances, is currently renting a six-bedroom, seven-bath mansion in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village for around $45,000 a month (the rental rate could be slightly lower if he were able to negotiate a discount), according to media website Gawker. The home was last on the market about two years ago for $18.75 million, according to StreetEasy.

The 19th-century mansion has most everything a young entrepreneur could want: an elevator, a gym, a private garage, numerous private outdoor terraces, and apparently even a safe room/panic room for the truly paranoid.

There is also a 40-foot landscaped interior atrium as well as various other entertaining spaces that it appears Mr. Parker has been taking advantage of. Gawker reports that numerous soirees and fundraisers have taken place at the palatial pad, which have attracted the likes of Val Kilmer, Oliver Stone, and Hugh Grant. UrbanTurf is currently trying to get an invite to the next one.
