A Dupont Circle home that was long known as operating as a popular party house found a buyer recently after more than a year on the market.
The five-bedroom, five-bath home at 2220 Q Street NW (map) was originally listed for $3.5 million in early 2022. The home, which had been in foreclosure for several years, went under contract with contingencies last week at a list price of $1.995 million.

For years, the Q Street home was known as a house that could be rented out for parties on Airbnb, however that is also what likely lead to its downfall. In 2015, DC attorney general Karl Racine filed suit against owner Douglas Jefferies, claiming that Jefferies had been operating the popular party house in Dupont Circle illegally.
Racine said that police were called to the property more than 100 times between April 2014 and April 2015. Neighbors also called many times to report noise violations, which aren’t included in that tally.
The house was the subject of UrbanTurf’s This Week’s Find in 2011. Lauded in guest reviews as “made for parties”, the listing was once two homes, which were renovated and combined into one by Jefferies over the course of a decade or so.
