Washington DC-based property development company Ditto Residential has lofty ambitions: to change the city’s landscape through high-quality, design-driven homes that inspire their owners. In keeping with that philosophy, the developer this year delivered a standout collection of six small-scale properties in some of DC’s hottest neighborhoods.
All of these homes (listed below) are modern yet completely approachable and one-of-a-kind. They also represent a fleeting opportunity to buy a boutique property from Ditto Residential, as this coming year the company will pivot toward larger scale projects, such as The Buchanan School redevelopment and a much anticipated mixed-use property with large family-friendly sized units in Union Market.
625 5th Street
These two residences, located on the border of Capitol Hill and the H Street Corridor, will hit the market this week. The property includes one three-bedroom plus den and one two-bedroom plus den unit. Both have tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, surprisingly spacious layouts and generous storage space. Outdoor space includes a patio, a large roof deck and parking.

1501 4th Street
Debuting in August 2016, 1501 4th Street includes four units—the largest with three bedrooms—in Truxton Circle, a gem of a neighborhood sandwiched between Bloomingdale and Eckington. The property was designed for the more daring urban dweller, with bold, modern details, floor-to-ceiling bay windows and free-flowing natural light. All units also have outdoor space.

1537 6th Street NW
The six residences at 1537 6th Street, in the heart of DC’s booming Shaw neighborhood, will debut in October 2016. This is the inaugural project by the award-winning architectural firm Brininstool + Lynch of Chicago. The exterior of 1537 6th blends gracefully with the surrounding architecture while the luxury interiors are a standout for the neighborhood.

Just one two-bedroom unit remains at this modern, light-flooded, two-residence townhome. Located on the cusp of Logan Circle and Shaw, the exterior is reminiscent of the neighborhood’s stately townhomes while the interior has a definite modern flare. Interior details include a stairwell with glass walls, oversized skylights, Eucalyptus wood wall, pivot hinged doors and a serene roof deck and patio.

Though both units of this Shaw/Blagden Alley residence have sold, it remains a perfect example of Ditto Residential’s superior work. The two- and three-bedroom units are huge (2,094 and 2,369 square feet, respectively) and feature three sides of windows, radiant heating, and both a terrace and roof deck.
