Nesso Plaza, the indoor-outdoor marketplace pitched along H Street NE, is now scheduled to open early next year and several tenants have already signed on for the innovative space.
Jonathan Askarinam purchased seven buildings along and behind the 1300 block of H Street NE in order to get the appropriate amount of space for the new concept. The footprint, which includes the former Biergarten Haus at 1355 H Street NE, calls for stalls providing a mix of offerings.
Askarinam envisions the development housing approximately 20 tenants, focusing on neighborhood-serving retail, like a fitness center, coffee shop, nail salon, and barber, in addition to eateries. Several businesses have already signed on including a coffee roaster, bakery, ice cream parlor, plant shop, and even a pilates/yoga studio and tattoo parlor.
The project has cleared some key regulatory hurdles, receiving approval from the Board of Zoning Adjustment last spring. Construction work is underway inside the former Biergarten space. Details on leasing can be found here.
