A Trip West for a $14.5 Million Home in Malibu: Figure 1

In a departure from our usual DC-focused fare, we head 3,000 miles west to Malibu, Calif. where a home has been put on the market that we imagine you will either love or hate.

The Wall Street Journal featured this 5,900 square-foot home as its House of the Day recently, and once you take a look at the photos, you will realize that it is difficult not to sit and stare. Listed for $14.5 million, the home is owned by commercial director and guitar designer (who knew those were such lucrative professions) Graham Henman. Perhaps its most interesting feature are the exterior walls which are made of stainless steel to protect against wildfires. Henman tells the Journal that he and his family have no definite plans, but they are thinking of leaving the Los Angeles area. “The house is going to tell us what to do,” he says.
